CNC Machinist Location: Birmingham- UK Job ID: 20WD40302 Position Overview Fascinated by the world of manufacturing? Looking to make a real change in the world? We're looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join the Birmingham Technology Centre team to work on live customer projects and support the development and testing of our Fusion 360 platform. Candidates with an aerospace background in the manufacturing industry would receive priority The CNC Machinist is responsible for working directly with a wide range of users to show off the amazing capabilities of our hardware and software. Our unique workshop relies on somebody to have both excellent technical skills, including G-Code fluency, various controller experience and tool library management, and well-honed industry experience to help push the boundaries of what these machines can do with our software. A background in multi-axis machining, CAD/CAM software, aerospace machining, machine maintenance trouble shooting, and repair are required. Responsibilities Output * Multi-axis machining * Machine maintenance trouble shooting & repair * Carries out work by reference to Supervision, the Departmental Project Plan and overall departmental requirements. * Responsible for operating resources, within guidelines set by Supervision. * Ensures that the required output targets are met. * Responsible for the storage of equipment, tools, drawings and upkeep of job data sheets using a method compatible with the Company's quality standard and procedures. * Work with opposite shift machinists where relevant and consulting group to ensure the smooth running and hand over of information and work between shifts and sections. * Carry out actions as agreed with Supervision and take an active role as and when required in enquiry and job launch meetings. Quality * Ensures that the quality of output meets the Company's quality standard and procedures. * Advises Supervision of any quality issues, with respect to production, procured parts or materials. * Works with the quality manager to ensure that equipment is calibrated and maintained * Ensures that plant and machinery is maintained in order to maintain quality standards of work. Minimum Qualifications * Full apprenticeship with solid experience in a Toolroom manufacturing environment * Experience in programming and manufacturing Aerospace components with preferably 5-axis programming "practitioner" experience would be an advantage along with Siemens control experience. * Experience using Autodesk manufacturing solutions on production parts would be an advantage, however, experience of an alternative CAD/CAM system would be considered * An HNC in a mechanical engineering would be desirable but not essential About Autodesk With Autodesk software, you have the power to Make Anything.
