Job Description As the UK Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of the SGS IBR Laboratory, and will oversee the delivery of filtration and consumer product analytical services to customers. Day to day you'll be responsible for the delivery of budgeted laboratory revenues and profits through active teamwork with other Managers on site, ensuring efficient and appropriate use of resources/facilities and the operational capability to deliver a valued overall service to IBR customers through teamwork with other IBR managers globally. You will lead the laboratory team in the effective employment of motivated and competent people who are consistently able to deliver high quality and valued laboratory services to the standards required by customers and ISO 17025 Accreditation. Qualifications To be successful in the role you'll need extensive experience in a laboratory management role related to the filtration industry. You'll have experience of directly communicating with clients and successfully resolving client issues/complaints and will have experience of managing a successful team, including performance management, recruitment, managing underperformance. You'll need to show a thorough understanding and knowledge of H&S procedures to OHSAS 18001 standard such as risk assessments, and will have the ability to identify and capitalise on business development/efficiency opportunities to ensure sustainable revenues at acceptable margins. In addition to the above you'll also need to demonstrate the following; * In-depth technical knowledge of analytical testing activities within the filtration and vacuum cleaner industry, in particular ISO 29463, IEC 62885-2, ASTM F1977, etc. * Experience in fluid dynamics, vacuum cleaner and filter testing a positive * Able to adopt a flexible approach to work and react effectively to a rapidly changing environment within a fast paced laboratory with short customer turnaround times. * Working knowledge of effective people management techniques, e.g. coaching, appraisals, objective setting, etc. * Able to work under own initiative and with a high degree of autonomy & maturity * Educated to degree level in Engineering discipline (or equivalent) Additional Information * Job Title: UK Laboratory Manager * Job Type: Permanent * Hours: 37.5 per week * Job Location: Milton Keynes APPLY NOW for full consideration, you can be sure that your application will be treated confidentially and impartially, and you will always receive an update within 10 business days.
