Would you like the opportunity to work in a groundbreaking team across County Durham providing assessment and formulation to Children and Young People who may have autism? This post is being offered up to 37.5 Hours a week, part time hours will be considered please indicate your preference of hours in your application Tees Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust has developed a team that has streamlined the multi-disciplinary assessment and formulation for children and young people who may have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in County Durham and Darlington. We are looking to recruit an clinical psychologist into our multi-disciplinary team in County Durham and Darlington. The service is based across two sites - one at Sedgefield Community Hospital and another in Stanley Primary Care Centre. This post is primarily based in the Sedgefield base but there may be occasions when the successful post holder may need to cover both sites. The assessment process is thorough and fast paced and the ideal applicant will be extremely organised and self-motivated to provide a high quality service to the children and young people within the service as well as their families. The ideal applicant will be a flexible team player who is willing and able to adapt rapidly to the demands of the team process on a day to day basis. Psychology is an integral and important part of the assessment process and we would welcome applicants who are willing to innovate in order to ensure that psychology provides the best possible contribution to the assessment process. We have developed additional provision for social skills groups as part of the assessment process and there will also be opportunities to be involved with audit and research activities with links to regional universities. Due to the nature of the assessment process and the team model you must be able to travel independently across the county on a regular basis. As this service will be rapidly developing a commitment to using TEWV QIS will be essential. The ideal applicant will need to have relevant skills and experience in the area of ASD assessment, potentially have post qualifying experience and qualifications or be willing to work towards this within an agreed time frame.
