Job Description
Trainee Telecommunications Engineer If you like being outside, hands on, and all things techy then we need you as a Trainee Airband Engineer! We are a fast-growing telecommunications company with networks in Devon, Shropshire, Somerset and the Midlands and we are rapidly expanding to new areas. We want enthusiastic, bright and customer focussed individuals to join our growing engineering team. What will you be doing? You will be given the opportunity to work in different departments across Airband to learn a variety of skills and gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of telecommunications. We will give you a full training plan, through a mixture of formal and inhouse training as well as learning from our expert telecommunications team in the office and out in the field. Providing you pass each level, after 18 months you will be a fully qualified wireless and fibre engineer. In the office you will have a chance to support our network, answering customer queries and working with the technical team to rectify faulty connections. You will also spend time with sales and customer services to understand the full scale of our customer's experience. Out in the field you will shadow engineers, first learning wireless connectivity through network maintenance and customer installations and so will need to be happy working at heights and outside. We know the weather can be changeable in the UK, so we will provide warm, waterproof clothing. Once confident in wireless connectivity you will be trained in fibre and you'll get your own van when you are ready to work independently. Who are we looking for? We are looking for people that are ready to learn, enjoy technology and don't mind working outside. You can't be afraid of heights as lots of the work will be off the ground, and you will need a full driving license as depending on where you live, you may need to drive to meet the engineer you are shadowing until you are given your own vehicle. You will need to have a good customer manner as you will be the face of Airband whilst doing customer installs. You may have some previous engineering experience but it's not essential as long as you have the right attitude and are up for the challenge.
