But what will I learn... \t * How to become a Track-side Engineer \t * How to carry out maintenance activities on communication systems throughout the infrastructure \t * How to install and commission on site equipment in line with the various contract requirements \t * How to repair and restore equipment across the London Underground \t * To understand and adhere to the Health & Safety requirements and London Underground procedures \t * How to test and commission a vast array of products across multiple technologies and manufacturers \t * How to unload, check, handle, store and prepare all the equipment \t * To work in a multitude of environments from stations to trackside \t * About all 3 of the departments of the metro business and rotate around each of them throughout the apprenticeship \t * To work as part of a team or work alone \t * The requirements of the different customers and contracts and how to fulfil those needs \t * To become part of a wide and multi-skilled field force \t * How to own problems and take the responsibility of solving them \t * Be proactive in supporting telent and recognising when colleagues need help The Specifics \t * The apprenticeship is 3 years long \t * You will be mentored by colleagues, supervisors and managers throughout the scheme \t * One completion of the scheme you will be a fully qualified telent field engineer and have the opportunity to integrate into the full-time workforce \t * The apprenticeship is a managed scheme with a mix between apprenticeship course work, on site working and vendor exams (block release) Still Interested? What will you need? To qualify to join telent as an apprentice you must: \t * Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9 - 4 (A*-C) specifically in Maths, English and Science or an IT related subject \t * Have a full UK driving licence by the completion of the apprenticeship \t * Be 18 years of age from September 2020 \t * Be able to pass government vetting and police Security Clearance \t * Be able to pass full drugs and alcohol screening test prior and during employment Additional Info: To excel and develop in the telent apprenticeship Scheme you must: \t * Have an interest in developing your skills \t * Be able to commit 100% to the programme and your personal development \t * Basic knowledge of windows operating systems \t * A strong focus on client and customer service \t * Experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders \t * Strong planning and organising skills \t * Strong problem solving and decision-making skills \t * Be able to undertake physically demanding work and possess normal colour vision and hearing \t * Adhere to telent's strict policy on drugs & alcohol \t * Be able to work at heights \t * Be an effective communicator both written and verbal \t * Have a positive, can-do attitude \t * Be able to work as part of a team \t * Be keen to work outdoors in all kinds of environments \t So... want to know more about telent?
