Company Description Overview Specialist role Business analyst Summary of the work Organisation-wide SharePoint Online implementation programme for a Central Government Agency, starting with a couple of pioneer business areas. Consultant is responsible for quantifying, analysing, categorising and documenting "as-is" practices in different business areas for creating, sharing, storing, destroying electronic and paper documents, and advising on a suitable "to-be" information architecture for SharePoint Online. Latest start date 31 May 2016 Expected contract length 3 months Region South East England Job Description About the work Who the specialist will work with You'll be reporting directly to the programme manager, and working alongside colleagues from ICT, project support, information assurance, records management, and nominated business users from the different business areas. You will also work with / liaise with colleagues from other programmes such as the Survey and Inspection Transformation Programme, Cloud Transformation Programme What the specialist will work on * Conduct user interviews / workshops for different roles and business areas * Produce "as is" process maps and information flow maps * Quantify and categorise the different types and ages of information produced or used by the business areas * Identify and document: metadata, access controls, any retention schedule, storage locations, storage formats * Identify and document what information must/should be migrated to the new SharePoint Online system * Advise on the "to be" information architecture for the new SharePoint Online system * Share skills/experience with colleagues on KIM programme Work setup Address where the work will take place You'll based and mostly be working at in Southampton. However there will be some travel to other offices, for example offices in Plymouth and Fareham, both of whom are part of our phase 1 "pioneer" group. Working arrangements The nature of the role means you will largely work onsite so you are face-to-face with colleagues. There may be limited opportunities to work from home - for example if you are writing up notes. Security clearance Disclosure Scotland is required. There is no requirement for you to be security cleared. Qualifications Skills and experience Essential skills and experience * Lead information analysis/audit for comparable organisations * Work on organisation-wide SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint Online EDRMS projects * Rock-solid information management background * Be able to build rapport and persuade people that document management is more interesting and important than they think! * Demonstrate good process / information flow mapping skills * Actively engage people, book interviews and follow up Nice-to-have skills and experience * Previous experience of information management in DfT or other DfT agencies Familiarity with government paper record management systems Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
