Role Overview This role will be focused on creating creative and innovative analysis and user interfaces across SETI driven advanced instrumentation platforms. The role will be responsible for design, planning, development and implementation of various code and applications which will create primarily graphical user interfaces and methods for data access and analysis. Along with UI development, the role will be responsible for creating innovative metrics and measurements within the instrumentation framework, providing new insights into the performance of the monitored infrastructures. In addition, this role will be responsible for designing and creating various scripts and applications that will be used to automate operational and deployment-based functions across the entire SETI managed infrastructures. Innovation in this area will drive efficiencies and operational stability throughout the electronic trading plant providing tangible benefit to the firm. This role has global business and technology stakeholders and has highly visible and direct impact on technology initiatives. Background on Technical Environment SETI is a global organisation responsible for the managing and innovating within the firm's specialised electronic trading infrastructures and is a part of both the Institutional Securities Technology (IST) and Critical Infrastructure (CI) divisions. SETI works closely with all technology engineering, implementation and operations teams across the Firm which support electronic trading. Job Responsibilities * Design and develop applications and user interfaces within the framework of the tools being accessed * Identify potential metrics and indicators that could be developed, based on the data captured and stored * Work closely with third-party vendors that supply applications and framework utilised in development of user interfaces * Work collaboratively with team to understand client/stakeholder requests and requirements in order to best deliver to their needs on a global platform * Work within and Agile framework / Scrum as a squad member Skills * Strong expertise in Linux and the Linux shell is required * Demonstrated expert proficiency in SQL and understanding of Common Table Expressions (CTE) * Strong application development skillset in Python (preferred) or Java. Familiarity with 3Forge AMISCRIPT is a plus * Solid understanding of financial market structure and order flow in and electronic trading environment * Must be able to effectively work in a geographically diverse team, utilizing all available resources and tools to remain engaged with the broader team * Self-starter able to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to requirements * Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision * Ability to work in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in MS Office and related applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Project). Education and qualifications * Bachelor's degree in technology/Computer Sciences or related area of study * Extensive application development, including web and scripting * Recent demonstrated experience in the financial services industry as a technologist is a plus Interested in flexible working opportunities?
