Job Description A typical CAREGivers evening Do you want to start a career in care where you can assist people in your local area to start their day independently? We are looking for warm and compassionate people who can commit regular mornings. Take a look at a typical evening visit with one of our clients. Evening visit Typical shift pattern: 5.00pm to 10.30pm Greeting your client with an interest in their day, catching up and taking time to talk with your client is a big part of your role as a CAREGiver. We understand human kindness is essential for our client's well-being and our CAREGivers share in that thinking. You will be preparing their afternoon or evening meal that they have chosen. You may need to assist them in moving in to the dining room or setting them up in their arm chair in the living room to eat. Don't forget to feed their beloved house pet too. Light house cleaning duties can be carried out while they are eating. You may then need to assist your client to use the toilet or commode before assisting with their self-care night time routine. This might involve washing, brushing teeth and changing in to pyjamas. Making sure that their urine bottles are emptied and a new clean one is available to use if needs be in the night. Leaving the radio on for them and setting the timer on so it switches off. Making sure they have everything they might need in the night; a panic button, the TV remote and/or a glass of water. Lying out clothes or breakfast or whatever they might need for the next morning. Wishing them a good night and ensuring the home is secure before you leave. Our visits are no less than an hour at a time and our assessments ensure that both the client and CAREGiver are given the time they need to carry out a calm and one to one service. Position: CAREGiver Rate of Pay : 9.00 - 10.25 per hour Benefits : Paid mileage and expenses Hours Available: Part-time Where : Home Instead Andover and East Wiltshire covers; Tidworth, Devizes, Pewsey, Marlborough, Amesbury, Andover and surrounding villages.
