Job Description
Work Location: Regional, Welwyn Garden City and Bedford An exciting new position has been created within the Regional IUC Operations team to oversee and actively participate in the overall management of the service with a focus on medicines management, supplies and distribution. The successful candidate will work closely with the Deputy Head of Region and Medicines management administrators to ensure the IUC services across Herts, West Essex and Luton and Bedfordshire are equipped to run a safe and efficient service. This position is crucial in ensuring that the service is fully resourced and supports the provision of high-quality care for our patients. This is a full-time position and the hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week (out of hours working will be required) Who are we? HUC provides accessible and high quality Integrated Urgent Care services to nearly 3 million patients across a range of counties, including Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire and Essex. When patients are ill and need the right medical attention, HUC provides the NHS111 and Out of Hours GP service. In this role you will * Be responsible for the management of the medicine's management team * Proactively ensure that the bases and cars are fully stocked and equipped and highlight any variance in practices across the region * Provide best possible value in sourcing stock and consumables and drive down costs overall * Support the IUC Pharmacy lead to ensure compliance against NICE guidelines * Be responsible for CQC compliance and evidence in relation to medicines management You will have * Educated to GCSE level with Maths and English as a minimum * Excellent organisation and administration skills with high attention to detail * Proven experience of managing a small team with integrity and discretion * Good IT skills and understanding of the adastra system or willingness to learn * Experience of purchasing and procurement and a good understanding of the principles of procurement guidelines and legislation * Experience of managing a wide geographic distribution network * Ability to work effectively under pressure * Good team player with strong people skills Benefits * Generous NHS pension * We offer fully paid and supported in-house training programmes * Career development opportunities * Excellent holiday entitlement * NHS discounts through Blue Light Card * Access to the 'Perkbox' staff benefit scheme * Also, an Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support to employees As HUC is an organisation commissioned by the NHS, all roles are listed on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (SI 1975/1023), which means they are eligible for a standard or enhanced check as appropriate from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
