Job Title: Project Manager - Installation Location: GB Warwick/Haywood Road - GBWKB Type of Job: Permanent Ref No.: V9282 The Project: Highways England have awarded telent the contract for the operation and management of NRTS (National Roads Telecommunication Services), a critical component of national infrastructure supporting the country's 4,400-mile strategic road network. telent will take on the NRTS network in 2018 and provide an end-to-end managed service to build, maintain, and modernise the network. Role Profile: • To coordinate the installation programme with all parties including Highways England • To programme the installation works at least 3 months in advance. • To liaise with procurement on the availability of equipment and 3rd party services • Plan staff resource to achieve the required run rate of installations. • To liaise with the Capital works partners in planning the installations. • To liaise with the Programme Delivery Manager. Typical Deliverables : Responsible for the management of several projects and/or bids, ensuring successful delivery and that all customers see telent as a business of excellence and one they wish to continue to work with. Responsible for: • Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the customer's satisfaction. • Contributing to the development and delivery of customer services strategy. • Leading Project Manager to achieve milestones and objectives. • Financial performance and the reporting of all projects. Including financial performance through Oracle. • Contractual Quality and Health & Safety for all projects. • Defining best practices and ensuring these are applied to improve products or services. • Developing the project management team, setting standards, identifying the required levels of training and defining specific project roles for all projects. Including production of project specific roles and responsibilities for the project team. • Matrix management of the project teams. • Reporting project performance to the relevant Programme Manager, highlighting and managing all risks & issues and their mitigations throughout the project life cycle. • Ensuring Project Managers ensure production of standard project documentation and storage on Oracle UCM. • Solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. • Operating with no supervision in a complex environment. Business Operations Skills " Experience: • Experience in successful delivery of multi-discipline, national projects. • Proven experience in successful delivery of multiple projects with budgets of up to £8m. • Excellent understanding of a complex project programme. • Demand management experience. • Excellent leadership and people management skills. • Proven ability to provide a motivating and encouraging environment for other team members. • Excellent client facing skills. • Strong and proven ability to work under pressure. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Excellent financial and commercial awareness. • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills. • Ability to communicate at all levels in the business. • Proven experience of managing complexity and change. • Realising all the needs of the customer properly and being able to provide them with appropriate and precise solutions. • Ensuring enthusiasm and being committed to work in a team as an exemplary team player. • Multi tasking and time management. • Is recognised as an expert within the organisation. • Working Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental legislation Business Operations Skills " Qualifications: • Production of the Project Initiation Documentation. • Ensuring Projects are properly launched with the right stakeholders into the business. • Ensuring the project management team manage their budgets, programmes, project risks, issues, project scope and project change control. • Completing periodic contract reviews. • QEHS are engaged on projects at the right times taking a proactive approach in managing quality standards and the prevention of Health and Safety Issues. • Senior customer liaison and stakeholder management as and where required. • Supplier and Subcontractor Management at a senior level. • Acting as key stakeholder in managing business change. • Liaising with all relevant senior managers. • Ensuring strict financial control of projects are maintained providing project financial status reports during the review periods and promoting the use of ORACLE functionality. • Project Close Out including final accounts process and project archiving. • Always ensuring we adopt a full ownership end-to-end culture from start of contract through project phase to proper handover into mobilisation teams for service. telent is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to diversity and inclusion
