Job Description

We are delighted to offer you an opportunity to join our bespoke rotational programme. The Emergency Department, Acute Medical Admissions Unit and Critical Care have joined together to create an exciting and highly supported learning opportunity for Band 5 nurses. Successful candidates will work for 9 months in each of the 3 areas. The post is designed to give you the best possible start to your career in acute care. You will have a 9 month placement in each area, and with the support and encouragement of clinical facilitator's you will work through a wide range of competencies, based on the National Step One competencies to develop your skills in each area. You will have regular meetings with your clinical supervisor to ensure that you are fulfilling your personal goals and will also attend the critical care foundation programme. At the end of the 24 months you will be guaranteed a substantive post in one of the three areas, with further development to enhance your career. You will be motivated to develop your skills and knowledge, forming the foundations for your career. The post is suitable for newly qualified nurses as well as those wishing to progress their career and consolidate existing knowledge and skills.
