Job Description As Validation Technician you'll provide support with the management of laboratory equipment including maintenance, calibration and validation of equipment. You'll prepare documents to assist with the maintenance, calibration and validation of equipment and maintain records for all laboratory equipment in support of GLP and GMP requirements. Key Accountabilities; * Provide support to Operations with the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures preparing records of these activities and recording history events in the equipment database. * Routinely calibrate laboratory equipment or engage the services of an approved subcontractor following scheduled requirements from the equipment database. * Perform equipment validations on new equipment following receipt in accordance with the equipment Validation Master Plan. * Perform routine scheduled requalification of equipment in accordance with the equipment Validation Master Plan. * Prepare Validation Reports following the qualification of equipment * Maintain the equipment management database and equipment history files in a timely manner in order these records are available on demand at the time of client or regulatory inspections. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need knowledge and lab working skills relating to general laboratory equipment operation, maintenance and will be familiar with specific requirements that are essential when working in a GLP/GMP establishment. The ideal candidate will have general experience of the safety aspects when dealing with electro/mechanical equipment. And will have experience of working in a cGMP QA/QC or equipment support department providing operations support to a laboratory or biopharmaceutical industry. Other high quality regulated industrial experience may be a suitable alternative. You'll need to be educated to degree level or HND/HNC qualification in Engineering or Scientific discipline. In addition to the above you'll also need to demonstrate; * Working experience of MS office applications and general databases and computerised analytical equipment. * Experience of report writing. Experience with the following would be desirable, but not essential; * Scientific assays. * Microbiological testing * Supervision of staff or subcontractors. * Equipment validation * CPD certified training in Engineering or Science.
