Company Description Founded in August 2012, International Women's Initiative (IWI) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) working towards the promotion of women's rights and gender equality around the world. We believe that we will achieve this through the creation of volunteer and professional networks and the provision of a platform for engaging in constructive commentary and ideas-sharing in the field. Job Description VOLUNTEER POSITION: IWI's Grant Writer is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations and will persuasively communicate IWI's mission and programmes to potential funders. The Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with granter contacts, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines. This position requires someone who has excellent research, writing, and communication skills, is self-motivated, reliable, organized, thorough and timely. This is a volunteer position. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with team to develop and implement an annual development plan/strategy to increase annual grant income Develop/write grant proposals to foundations and grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating organization's mission and programs to potential funders Assemble/submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations Conduct prospect research Report progress in grant research, grant submission and outcome to IWI's leadership Qualifications Previous grant writing and fundraising experience. Time Commitment: The minimum commitment is an average of 10-15 hours per week including a weekly one on one meeting with the Director. How to Apply: Please apply through smartrecruiters.
