Job Name Blender & Inventory Strategist Country: United Kingdom City: Glasgow Function: Operations - Supply Chain - Logistics Reporting Line: Master Blender Job type: Full time Lead recruiter: Patricia Costoya About the role Your Opportunity This role will ensure that the recipe structure for our award-winning scotch whisky blends, such as Dewar's and William Lawson's, and portfolio of single malts, including Aberfeldy, can be maintained in the short, medium, and long term. Through leadership of the inventory planning team (1 direct report and 1 indirect report), our Blender & Inventory Strategist will carefully manage stock and model forecasts against inventory to identify risks. The role will also be a part of the Blends Creation Team, bringing new expressions to global markets. About You In order to assure the legacy of our whisky brands, we need you to be Fearless, have a Founders mentality, and treat others like Family as you partner with our Global Brand Teams and Operations Primos to develop and adhere to the strategy for our malts and blends. Responsibilities * Long Term Demand Process - manage this complex process and provide clear / concise verbal and written guidance on the impact of the output on casks, warehouses, and distilleries capacity * Investigate the use of modelling tools to predict stock usage over the short to long term and communicate any risks to supply. Communicate the whisky inventory position with the wider business and ensure that all stakeholders have the same information at the same time * Map out the inventory usage in short, medium and long term - ensuring that re-vat activities are carried out and communicating these needs with Bulk Colleagues. * Work with the Finance and Brands team to find ways of maximising the value of our stock holding, for both existing ranges and New Product Developments * Develop strategies to underpin the longevity of the established recipes for each of our whisky brands, maintaining standards of excellence for all established whisky brand recipes * Assist Master Blender in managing exceptional cask range and small batch blends - identify suitable stock from this range of single malts * Work with the Master Blender and Whisky Creation Team to bring new concepts to market. * Enhance our Stock Planning Tools, ensuring that they are fit for purpose and for the future * Ensure the quality and consistency of our whiskies and other spirit drinks through organoleptic assessment * Manage and lead Inventory Planning team, including coaching and performance assessments Skills and Experience * 5 to 10 years' experience specialising in blending, innovation, and stock management * Experience managing brand teams * Experience in people management * Experience in DRAMS or similar stock management systems * Excellent communication skills. * Excellent Excel and analytical skills - the ability to draw conclusions and recommendations from data Personal Qualities * Self-awareness and self-assurance are key to this role- the ability to convey simply and with certainty complex information * Family - acting with integrity in dealing with sensitive information * Fearless - to protect the equity of the brand * Founders - pushing ideas to the wider business to add value to our brands Our culture We share the passion and entrepreneurial flair of our founder and are guided by our three culture pillars - Fearless, Family and Founders, they inspire our Primos to be the best they can be and drive us forward in all we do.
