Job Description
Stratton Mills are an employment agency who provide Fashion Personnel around the UK. We have a great opportunity for Sample Machinists. Successful candidates will be offered full time/part time shifts on a temp to perm/permanent basis. Products: Womenswear Salary: 9.00 - 11 / hour Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week + overtime) Immediate Start Duties for the Sample Machinist Role: Provided with the patterns you will be responsible for the creation of the garment Working with various fabrics and garments including dresses, trousers, light tailoring etc. Using machinery including Lock Stitch, Over Lock, Binder, Chain Stitch Binder, Twin Needle, Cover Stitch, Hemmer, Flat Lock, Button Hole, Button Machine etc. Changing machines to fit the requirements of the fabrics working on. Reading and understanding specification sheets. Ideal Sample Machinist Candidate: Clothing experience desirable Good attention to detail Excellent hand-eye co-ordination Experience of working to targets Excellent understanding of garment construction. Proven ability to work on various fabrics and garments. Excellent cutting and stitching Ability to change machines to the requirements of the fabric working on. Knowledge of reading and understanding specification sheets. A minimum of 3 years sewing experience gained within the industry.
