My client is a global leader in consulting, technology services and digital transformation that specialise in agile custom software development and integration at an enterprise scale. Given the demand for Platform Engineers across the UK my client has begun a massive recruitment drive that means you could seize the opportunity and make a real change in your career. About the role - You will bring a passion for DevOps methodologies and practises while actively creating Dev Ops ways of working by removing silos between traditional functional teams as you will be working within the Public Sector Digital and DevOps Unit across a number of major Public Sector clients. This will see you working with a set of diverse technologies and ways of working that are starting to define the industry (Kubernetes, Terraform). Most importantly you will be architecting for the cloud, as well as shaping the services they are delivering. Skills and experience: * Strong Linux and troubleshooting skills, scripting and automation. * Experience of working with AWS/Azure in production environments. * Some experience working with Docker/Kubernetes/Docker swarm. * Fluency in at least one programming language Python, Ruby, Go * Experience of at least one configuration management tool. * Demonstrable experience of infrastructure as code. * Experience of creating/working with Code Pipelines e.g.: Git, Bamboo, Jenkins, drone, GoCD. Ideal candidate will also have: * Good communication skills, both in written and verbal form. * An appetite to learn and an understanding of new technologies. * Be a team player, have good relationship building skills, with experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and ideally with clients and other suppliers. * Experience presenting to clients and stakeholders.
