Operational BI Specialist Manchester Permanent Full-Time; 37.5 hours per week About the Operational BI Specialist Role The role of Operational BI Specialist within the Operations Development directorate is a new role that will be key in enabling our client to achieve their Insights goals of democratising and simplifying their data: creating a single version of truth, enabling access to all the relevant business data from one place and to standardise data into coherent formats so that it can be used by stakeholders to analyse and report as needed. You will join an Operational Insight Analyst and form part of a wider virtual team of data analysts working in other areas of the business, which is tasked with co-ordinating the development of a central data warehouse and sharing best practice and business insights across the company. You will be responsible for using a wide variety of data sources both within and outside of the company to help them understand their performance against plans, the impact of potential changes and proactively identify opportunities to improve their customer support offerings, service and processes. The Operational BI Specialist role will include supporting trend and investigatory analysis and forecasting to help inform and plan for changes. * Develop, maintain and support the reporting systems to provide accessible data for manipulation and decision making * Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to integrate new data sources into a database allowing for effective insight. * Assess and develop processes to optimise ways of working across the team and stakeholders. * Process and analyse multiple data sources to produce clear findings and recommendations to support operational development ideas coming from across UK Operations * Provide timely analysis of the business KPIs to stakeholders across the business. * Proactively analyse data to uncover opportunities to add value to the business and/or drive efficiency savings into the Operation. * Assist with resource planning and forecasting activities, including information gathering and budget preparation within Operations. * Assist with data analysis to support optimisation of in-life service, Workforce and Contact Centre Management platforms and processes. * Provide and analyse data for preparation of business cases requests for Operational investment. * Assist with the reporting and analysis activity against operational cost KPIs and measurement of the impact of Gamma's Operational Investment Programme. About You * You'll have previous experienced in writing SQL queries and the use of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). * You'll have a strong understanding of database management systems and ETL frameworks. * You'll have excellent experience with Power BI: importing data, manipulating data, managing relationships, working with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), and building visualisations and reports * You'll be naturally inquisitive with superb questioning skills and the ability to help a stakeholder articulate their requirements * You'll be a creative and lateral thinker, with the ability to envisage multiple routes to the answers required * You'll enjoy working to exacting quality standards and posess a keen eye for detail, but able to focus on what is important * You'll be achievement oriented, motivated by achieving to time & quality * You'll have a good commercial awareness and understanding of customer data * You'll have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with a flair for articulating your thinking * You'll be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects simultaneously About Them Our client are a leading supplier of voice, data and mobile products and services in the UK.
