Have you ever thought about working within a prison? We are currently looking for a Bank Healthcare Assistant within our HMP Wayland based in Thetford, Norfolk. Working as a Bank Healthcare Assistant offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences. HMP Wayland is a Category C male training prison, located near the village of Griston. The site is built up of 13 residential units and has a full healthcare unit. HMP Wayland is 24 miles from the main city of Norwich and 15 miles from Thetford. About the role... As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages such as ECG, urine analysis and blood pressure checks. You could also be involved with phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients' care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfill their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on wellbeing promotion clinics. If you do not have relevant training in phlebotomy, we would be willing to provide training and development in this area, subject to service needs. About you... We are on the lookout for Bank Healthcare Assistants who have experience of working within a Primary Care setting including GP surgeries and hospitals. You'll hold an NVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care and must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures as well as Health Promotion and screening. The patient and clinician complete a wellbeing wheel assessment to set goals and outcomes in partnership. The patient will complete the assessment and any needs identified will be met by our fully integrated service delivery team. More information This is a Bank contract to work as an when required including weekends and Bank holidays, to top-up your current earnings or fit around your lifestyle. The rate of pay is a flat rate of 11.00 per hour , working ad hoc shifts as and when required.
