Overview
Bank yourself a Bank role Are you looking for some additional working hours or to gain experience working in a custodial setting? Have you ever thought about working within a prison? We are currently looking for Bank Pharmacy Technician's within HMP Wayland. HMP Wayland is a Category C male training prison, located near the village of Griston in Norfolk. The site is built up of 13 residential units and has a full healthcare unit. HMP Wayland is 24 miles from the main city of Norwich and 15 miles from Thetford. Working as a Bank Pharmacy Technician offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences. What will you be doing? The role involves working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality pharmacy service to the prison population. You can expect to provide medicines management services to assist and support the primary care team to deliver effective clinical intervention. In addition, you will provide pharmacy related information to patients, prison officers and other healthcare professional ensuring the appropriate level of advice is given. The role requires the ability to administer medication and manage processes to support patients in managing their own in-possession medications effectively. What we need from you A qualified Dispensing Technician NVQ level 3, BTEC or equivalent, with a real passion for utlising your pharmacy skills in an environment that is ever changing. Based on the prison wings, you will be an integrated member of the pharmacy team, working with the Primary Care or IDTS Nurses, leading or assisting with the administration of medications. Using your skills and knowledge, you’ll have a flexible approach, working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service. You'll be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you Prison Healthcare experience is not essential. This is a bank role working shifts as and when required to cover holiday and sickness. The rate of pay is £19.34 per hour.
