Our technology provides healthcare professionals with instant access to real-time information held about a patient from many different care settings. We mobilise important healthcare information to ensure that, whichever health or social care setting a patient presents, the most up to date and relevant information is made available. Your new team You'll be part of our Healthcare Gateway Development department, who're a close-knit team of Developers passionate about innovation and what we do. You`ll have regular contact with the wider Healthcare Gateway team; including our sales, marketing, project management and product teams, so plenty of knowledge and expertise to help you to succeed in your role! About the role: As Senior Java Developer you'll provide a high level of technical expertise to the development department and act as a mentor to the wider development department, often using your experience and knowledge to help inform team member's decisions. You'll work with the Head of Development to inform internal departmental business processes, key performance indicators and ensure the department is aligned with company strategy. The Senior Java Developer is a new vacancy due to exciting expansion plans of the development team in Leeds. You'll ideally have a minimum of 5 years Development experience, an excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle and a proactive approach to problem solving. Who you'll be These are the skills and experience you'll need to set yourself up for success for this role, however we'd still love to talk to you even if you don't tick all of them; * Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, problem solving, decision making, and effective negotiation * A strong technical background in producing code, tests, and documentation * Extensive software engineering experience in enterprise software development & Software Project delivery in a software company or system integrator * Excellent understanding of different software development life cycles, in particular agile methodologies (SCRUM, DSDM , XP, Lean or Kanban) * Working knowledge of standard brokering and database technologies, including Java, .Net and ASP, MVC/Web app, HTML, CSS, JavaScript What we'll give you Not only will you get the opportunity to work with and learn from a great group of people, you will also have the chance to progress within the business.
