Job Description
Trading as Daimler Fleet Management (DFM) in the UK, Athlon are one of Europe's leading multi make fleet and leasing companies when acquired by Daimler in 2016 it strengthened Daimler's position in providing contract hire fleet management and innovative mobility services to both business and private customers. We are expanding our business rapidly and are currently seeking a Lawyer to join the team and provide legal services to Athlon UK and Athlon Car Lease International B.V. covering both corporate and consumer lending in the automotive sector. How you'll play your part You will provide advice on all areas of legal enquiry ensuring the business keeps abreast of regulatory and legislative developments, providing interpretation and recommendation where appropriate in a broad scope of legal areas. You'll support in ensuring all customer and supplier agreements remain compliant, facilitating bespoke amendments and negotiating with customers and suppliers in a timely and professional manner. You'll also provide legal advice in resolving customer complaints and working with compliance with any specific data protection and other regulatory matters. You will actively participate in significant business change, projects and development initiatives, including the implementation all new products and services, liaising with external legal advisors and participating in the Athlon international Legal team where a legal representative is required with wider Athlon projects. About you Alongside experience in a similar role within a similar environment you will have: * Commercial contract drafting experience is an essential requirement * A strong academic background with first rate professional training * An ability to balance the company's commercial drivers against legal risk * The gravitas and personality to advise all stakeholders * Excellent communication, negotiation and people skills * An ability to work in a high-pressured, busy and fast-moving start-up environment * An ability to work well within a team, including taking on a variety of work * Strong analytical and problem solving skills, numerate * 4-6 years' plus post qualification experience * Flexible for occasional travel * Desirable: Knowledge and practical experience of UK consumer credit is essential and would preferably include automotive asset finance, together with familiarity of the FCA regulatory regime and GDPR On offer As well as an excellent salary, and a bonus structure that rewards personal and business success, you'll be able to drive your own Mercedes-Benz through our Employee Car Ownership Scheme.
