Job Description

Job Title: Cloud Architect Location: Radbroke, Knutsford Our Risk, Finance and Treasury Technology team (RFT) is a global division across the UK, US, India & Czech Republic. We deliver the technology services for RFT, working in partnership with business customers to develop and implement long term strategic IT solutions. We support more than 450 applications and a user base of over 7000+ staff. We have a RFT Centre for Cloud Enablement (C4CE) role which will support the engineering of Cloud solutions across RFT as part of our Innovative agenda. This includes the build-out of new applications to the cloud, as well as the refactoring of existing applications for the cloud. As a Cloud Architect, you will support the identification of the business use cases that would deliver best value in a cloud architecture, prove viability and lead the delivery of proof of concepts. What will you be doing? Oversight of individual migrations Act as the point of contact / escalation for both application teams and for application teams and C4CE engineers Lead cloud solutions and technical designs Hands-on implementation work to get projects off the ground, evaluate and drive improvements to existing infrastructure Take the needs and challenges of an application team and set the technical roadmap and technology solutions that will support their business strategies and goals Ensure technical expectations of deliverables are met on projects Drive thought-leadership on DevOps, Cloud and infrastructure engineering Be a trusted and valued partner of the RFT CI/CTO teams. What we're looking for: Delivered cloud solutions at scale (AWS, Azure or GCP) Understanding of IaC using Cloud Formation, Terraform, and what tech stack will look like Extensive architecture exposure (forming plans, strategies, moving bulk numbers of apps into the cloud) Able to communicate and collaborate on different time zones. Skills that will help you in the role: Able to offer DevOps best practice Exposure working in an Agile environment Happy and able to coach other teams within the business, dependent on our services Excellent communication skills. Where will you be working? You will be working at our technology hub in the North West, located at Radbroke Hall in Knutsford. It's convenient for most people who live within a 35-mile radius, spanning from Liverpool, Chester, Manchester and Stoke.
