Job Description

We would like to invite you to become part of the team on Ward B14 at Peterborough City Hospital. We are a very friendly, welcoming team who strive to provide the best high quality care to our patients. The team has its very own enthusiastic consultants who are expert Geriatricians in acute care, we provide full comprehensive older person assessments. We have nurses who provide and deliver the very best patient centred specialised care. You will be equipped with the complex nursing skills required to deal with challenging behaviour, and will be educated on how to aid in safe and effective discharges from hospital. You will be fully supported by the matron, ward manager and band 6's that work regularly in the clinical area alongside the team, embedding the highest level of nursing skills and care. We strive to promote a friendly and supportive environment where learning from each other is paramount. On arrival to the ward you will be allocated a preceptor to work alongside, gaining all of the skills and competencies from them in preparation to taking a team of your own patients. We welcome newly qualified nurses and those who are also interested in undertaking the transition to a senior staff nurse. There is always an opportunity to learn more with in house training being regularly arranged, and also the opportunity to attend neighbouring universities to undergo post registration courses such as the Acute Care Module and the Diabetes Module.
