The Opportunity Configuration Engineer , Bristol, Competitive Salary & Benefits EDF Energy have a new opportunity available for a Configuration Engineer to support the Hinkley Point C Project on behalf of the Plant Integration Function of the NNB Engineering Directorate, you will be based at Bridgewater House in Bristol. The Plant Integration team is responsible for ensuring the development of the HPC Nuclear Power Plant design to underpin the timely and effective delivery of the overall project schedule. EDF has an established UK-based New Nuclear Build team (NNB Genco) developing our interests in new nuclear in the UK. Our ambition is to construct and operate two new EPR's at Hinkley Point in Somerset. The primary responsibility of the Configuration Project Engineer is to support the Design Branch Team in coordinating HPC's activities within the overall Design process.You will be a technical point of contact for Engineering Managers and Design Entities in regards to all configuration management topics. Main duties include: * Managing activities so that the Design Configuration Management processes owned by Plant Integration are properly, adequately and efficiently implemented across the project. * Provide an overview of post RC2 Freeze (design open points, design changes, referential changes) on its dedicated scope and is involved in management whenever required. * Provide a focal point for the Delivery of engineering/design services into each of the 6 Programmes via Engineering Managers and Leads. * Coordinate the Hinkley Point C stakeholders contribution to the configuration management processes. The Person The successful candidate will demonstrate the highest standards of focus on nuclear professionalism to ensure that the proposed design is compliant with UK regulations and context. This role requires high levels of technical and organisational skills along with the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You will demonstrate the ability to work independently and be proactive includingeffective communication with various levels of the organisation and externally. As a Configuration Engineer you will: * Have a good understanding of analysis tools and methods, combined with the ability to apply themand possess a broad knowledge of engineering principles in relation to power station design. * Understand quality arrangements required and associated with nuclear plant construction, ability to extract and compile relevant data according to the task in hand, often from numerous sources. * Demonstrable awareness of integrated management system and the different policies, procedures, standards and documents applicable to the function and role. * Take ownership of a process and demonstrate proactivity in ensuring concrete pours are not delayed due to Configuration Management issues. The Skills * Degree in a relevant science or engineering subject is essential * Knowledge of French and power station design is desirable (EPR or NPP) * Have experience of process development within engineering projects * Knowledge of design processes and activities related to Nuclear Industry * Have an understanding of Equipment engineering requirements * Experience within the Nuclear Industry preferred * Understand quality arrangements required and associated with nuclear plant construction * Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements Competitive Salary & Benefits We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a defined benefit pension scheme, a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, and the opportunity to earn bonus.
