Senior Legal Counsel Based: HighWycombe, with some travel Salary : 70,000 Term : Full-time, Permanent Mission of the role To provide, as a senior commercial lawyer, broad legal services to all of Focusrites businesses. Scope of the role A wide range of legal areas will be covered including commercial, company law, mergers & acquisitions, competition law, employment law, real estate and litigation (with outside counsel where appropriate). Main Output * Legal advice * Draft contracts * Legal opinions * Legal training for internal clients * Resolution of disputes * Delivery of legal solutions to business problems Key Responsibilities * Give legal advice regarding day-to-day business operations * Provide accurate, sound and timely legal services to meet the needs of internal clients * Advise internal clients on legal alternatives, taking into account the impact of the advice on the Focusrite Group * Advise on compliance with laws and regulations * Advise on compliance with corporate governance and compliance policy * Give legal advice regarding complex business operations and projects * Provide advice and support * Management of small acquisitions * Help define strategies to defend the interests of the Group * Develop and implement legal policies and guidelines * Participate in negotiations with business partners * Prepare negotiations with internal clients to achieve consensus * Negotiate legal position with third parties * Draft, review & validate legal documents * Prepared internally * Prepared by third parties * Co-ordinate with the business teams * Maintain ongoing dialogue with the business teams * Interact with other lawyers where appropriate * Manage Litigation * Manage disputes and litigation directly or together with outside counsel * Support General Counsel on major litigation * Manage external counsel * Instruct, co-ordinate & manage external counsel * Ensuring effective cost control Key Requirements * General commercial law experience * Would suit someone looking to move from private practice or with in-house legal experience * At least 5 years post qualification experience * Must be a doer, ready to roll your sleeves up and get on About Us Our audio technology brands stand together, seeking to enrich lives through music by removing barriers to creativity.
