Job Description The Senior Piping and Layout Engineer will be part of the topside engineering team based in Woking, UK. Workplace: Woking, UK Periodical follow-up in Singapore and/or Kuala Lumpur when appropriate. Reports to : Piping and Layout Lead Apply by: 7 November 2013 Start date : Immediate * Supervision and control of all aspects of the piping engineering and layout activities as assigned by the Client. * Main activities will be: * Plant layout design * Piping design * Piping engineering(technical specifications and requisitions, pipe stress, pipe support, etc) * Piping fabrication, installation, testing, etc * Maintain(together with Piping/Layout Lead) the Client's specifications: * Piping and Valve Material Specification * Pipe Support Standard * Piping Detail Standard * Valve Selection Requirements * Flange Management * Amendment to NORSOK L-002 * Contribute to good performance for the EPC Contractor's Piping and Layout discipline * Follow-up NORSOK standards and authority regulations * Ensure development of cost and weight effective technical solutions in accordance with specified quality * Initiate and/or participate in engineering assessments, reviews and QA/QC activities required to ensure that technical solutions meets good engineering practices and are in accordance with contractual requirements * Participate in discipline meetings * Ensure specific attention to NCS regulation compliance * Ensure attention to Company HSE requirements * Participate in project risk analysis sessions * Participate in technical audits and design reviews when required * Review design changes and monitor satisfactory implementation * Participate in the process with Technical Queries, Non Conformances and Deviations * Ensure knowledge to and perform work in accordance with established procedures * Prepare input to periodic management reports as requested * Support engineering personnel reporting to the Area Manager * Monitor EPC Contractor's discipline progress in accordance with agreed milestone plan and contractor plans * Participate in review and implementation of relevant issues from experience transfer (lessons learned) activities * Organize and conduct site surveys * Review/follow-up technical requisitions within the field of valves and piping bulks * Carry out expediting and quality surveillance activities within the field of piping and valves * Follow-up interface activities towards Living Quarter, Jacket, M40 Process module, Flotel and Jack-up rig Qualifications * Relevant professional /vocational qualification i.e. University Degree or equivalent * Minimum 15 years of relevant experience from working in the oil and gas industry * Good understanding of piping design codes, both US and European * Experience from Topside design * Good knowledge to NORSOK Additional Information * Good team player, good interpersonal skills and communicate well at all levels of the organisation * Engaging and aptitude for working in a diverse cultural environment * Good ability in planning and execution of multi discipline tasks * Dynamic adaption to the workload and able to prioritize work * Fluent in English, verbal and written Intrigued by a fascinating challenge?
