Job Description
Falmouth University has a history of more than 100 years of creative thinking and design innovation. Established in 1902 as Falmouth School of Art, we have grown to become a digital innovation hub, delivering impact for lives and economies through the development of new knowledge, solutions, services and products. Today, our undergraduate and postgraduate courses represent the breadth of the creative industries, the fastest growing sector in the UK economy. Falmouth's specialisms will be key to future economic and cultural success both at a local and global level. Our ambitious 2030 Strategy, 'Doing it for Real', is designed to deliver yet further growth in our student numbers and income through portfolio diversification, innovation, research and commercial ventures. It will establish Falmouth as the market leader for creative industries and entrepreneurship education over the next decade, capitalising on our considerable assets in innovation-led research and business incubation. To help deliver our 2030 Strategy, we are now looking to recruit a Product Innovation & Development Manager to join our Product Innovation & Development team. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation this role will be responsible for the development and implementation of new products, partnerships and delivery modes sufficient to achieve the University's strategic growth and diversification ambitions. By 2030 the University will have 6500 students on-campus, and 8500 off-campus, this role will be instrumental in ensuring that the University achieves these targets through a) developing the University's portfolio to keep pace with changing student and industry demands and needs; and b) the identification and development of collaborative provision partnerships. Portfolio development will consider the changing Creative Industries, and the opportunities that exist in the technologies being deployed and developed, this will include broadening the range of students Falmouth attracts - to include students from different disciplinary backgrounds who can see the technology-driven opportunities in the Creative Industries and the wider potential of the 'creative bridge'. It will also consider delivery modes that appeal to new and changing markets, be that online, through short courses, in accelerated form, or via work-based learning models. Partnership development will require you to identify and engage new collaborative provision partners that align with the University's strategy, develop the business case and negotiate the financial and legal aspects of partnerships. You'll manage a small team to achieve these aims and will be an inspiring and empowering leader aligned with the University's People Strategy. You'll be an innovative thinker, able to see new and emerging opportunities, and although experience working within higher education would be advantageous, if you've got demonstrable account management experience, and meet the job specification requirements, we can support you to adapt your skills to our environment.
