Carer
Overview
Job Description
Carer We're one of the largest not for profit care provider in the UK, specialising in providing high quality, person-centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing nationwide. At OSJCT we care about our residents and we care about each other. That means you'll enjoy great career development working for an expanding organisation. Because we're a not for profit trust, we invest every penny we make in the people who live in our homes and the people who work here too. This means better quality care and lovely homes for our residents, along with competitive wages and great training and development for our people. We provide outstanding care, working closely with leading experts on dementia and elderly care. And we're currently modernising our portfolio of care homes - refurbishing our existing homes and moving into new, inspiring, contemporary care homes too. As we expand nationwide, we need more people with the right mix of skills, passion and ambition to help us grow even more. Meadowcroft offers compassionate, individualised residential, dementia and nursing care for 71 residents just a short walk from the historical market town centre of Thame. COVID-19 is having an unprecedented impact on elderly care. We urgently need to recruit extra temporary care and support staff to ensure our residents get the care they need during these challenging times. If you need some additional paid work or you just want to volunteer your time to help, then we want to hear from you. What will you be doing? You will be working alongside a dedicated team who have our resident's emotional and physical wellbeing at the core of all they do. You'll assist with their daily living, encouraging their participation in meaningful activities as well as providing support and companionship. Whether you want paid work or happy to volunteer - we have a range of interesting and rewarding roles, so we're sure to have something to suit your interests and flexible enough to fit with the time you want to give. Most importantly you'll help our residents enjoy each day by making sure they get the quality care they deserve. Whatever your preconceptions about life in a care home, leave them at the door. We like nothing better than to have fun and celebrate life and the invitation to join us is open. What experience do you need? Due to our strong training team, you do not need to have previous care experience. All we ask for is someone who is compassionate, has a can-do approach and excellent communication skills. Above all, you'll be passionate about ensuring our residents have received the best care possible. What will you get in return? For those you giving us your time; you'll get to put your skills and time to good use, meet new people and know you've made a huge difference during these unprecedented times. We'll cover your out of pocket travel expenses. For those who are employed by us; you'll be working for one of the largest not for profit care providers in the UK. A great advantage of being a large organisation is that we can offer competitive pay, generous benefits and training to reward you for taking such good care of our residents. Here's an overview of some of the benefits you could get for working for us; * Key worker status (so your child can still go to school or nursery) * Company pension (depending on eligibility) * Weekend rates (depending on role) * 28 days holiday entitlement - including bank holidays pro rata (depending on how many hours are worked) * Free uniform * Free DBS * Free car parking * Comprehensive Induction, ongoing training and development Location (Region) Oxfordshire Location (Site) Meadowcroft Postcode OX9 3NQ Contract type Bank No. of hours per week 0 Candidate Contact oxon.osjct@cohesionrecruitment.com Job Description Carer.pdf - 319KB Level of DBS required Enhanced Vacancy Closing Date: 30/06/2020, 23:55
