Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust Consultant Geriatrician Permanent 1 Post - 10 PA's Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust are pleased to offer this opportunity as we look to develop our frailty service following the successful approval of an ambitious and exciting business case. The Trust is reconfiguring and investing in the development of specialist services for older people and require forward thinking, vibrant, enthusiastic individuals who are ready to join us on our journey. The strategic plan is to develop new, holistic MDT to create an innovative, person centred model of care for older people. This is a new post established to continue the development of Orthogeriatric and Elderly Care Services at Southport. The postholder will participate in the educational supervision and training of training grade doctors in Orthopaedics and Medicine and will take the clinical lead for the medical care of older Orthopaedic and Trauma patients. The postholder will participate in the development of the service with the possibility of developing a specialty clinic. Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date and have a certificate of completion of specialist training. As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced DBS will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application. The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit.
