Consultant Geriatrician Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust Permanent 1 Post - 10 PA's + 1.5 on-call Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust are pleased to offer this opportunity as we look to develop our frailty service following the successful approval of an ambitious and exciting business case. The Trust is reconfiguring and investing in the development of specialist services for older people and require forward thinking, vibrant, enthusiastic individuals who are ready to join us on our journey. The strategic plan is to develop new, holistic MDT to create an innovative, person-centred model of care for older people. Successful post holders, which include a Clinical Director, will have the ability to lead and influence the development of the model, both internally and in collaboration with system partners. They must bring passion, commitment and will be instrumental in driving forward this change. The acute geriatric clinical activity may include one or more of the following activities: acute geriatric on-call work (based on the Acute Frailty Unit), geriatric base ward activity, outpatient geriatric care plus educational and leadership roles to support the development of this forward thinking department. Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of the interview date and have a certificate of completion of specialist training. As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced DBS will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application. The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit.
