WOMEN & CHILDREN'S SERVICES - PAEDIATRIC UNIT - PETER PAN WARD BAND 6 CHARGE NURSE / SISTER RSCN/RN (CHILD) ESSSENTIAL 37.5 Hours Per Week (Internal Rotation) - Fixed Term 12 months An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic paediatric nurse to join our CQC rated 'Good' team. The paediatric unit at The Hillingdon Hospital consists of Peter Pan, Wendy ward and Tinkerbell's Out Patients. Peter Pan is the in-patient ward where this vacancy is based, although the unit works collaboratively. This ward manages a variety of acute medical and surgical conditions from fracture bones, appendicitis and diabetes to children with complex metabolic and respiratory disorders including children requiring high dependency care. Wendy ward is a nine bedded Day-Care / Ambulatory Care ward and is home to the paediatric phlebotomy service. Tinkerbell supports both wards by providing a dedicated Paediatric Outpatients area. The paediatric unit is a level one paediatric oncology shared care unit (POSCU) and links with Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College London Hospital. It is also offers a shared care service with the Royal Brompton Hospital for children with cystic fibrosis and respiratory conditions. We also have close links with our Paediatric Community Team, Child Development Centre and local university in relation to student nurse training. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative practitioner to join our team. You may be a band 6 currently looking for a new challenge or a band 5 seeking greater responsibility. You will have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate leadership and a sound understanding of paediatric practice. You will have a minimum of two years' experience at band 5. You will be responsible to the senior sister and accountable to the Matron for Paediatrics.
