THE ROLE Responsible for preparing and analysing management account packs, taking control of the month end process as well as preparing budgets and forecasts including submission on Cartesis. The role will lead in creating a control environment throughout the agencies, working on improving reporting and providing useful financial knowledge to the business. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Working closely with the revenue and billing team to provide a complete P&L picture for the individual agencies and the overall HP group Ensuring to follow best in practice and meet the needs of the business and the WPP reporting requirements. Demonstrating a person who is comfortable mobilising and communicating with members of staff at all levels. Preparation of monthly management account file Balance sheet reconciliations P&L review and adjustments such as prepayment & accruals Work with members of finance team to understand results for the month, production margins and servicing issues Reviewing month end results Preparation of Management Packs, produce quality commentary of performance against budget and forecast, working with key stakeholders to provide information and updates Preparation of Group Accounts for Health Practice Preparation and submission in to Cartesis (WPP Account submission tool) Balance sheet account review and management, including working with revenue team to improve working capital Working with senior finance team to produce of budgets and forecasts with review of KPIs and analysis to help improve reporting and information flow As applicable, preparation of Corporation Tax pack, Stat returns eg Stat Accounts, VAT, PAYE, P11Ds etc Lead audit preparation and testing Sarbanes Oxley Management lead any audits and produce reports to ensure a good compliance environment Represent the UK Finance team, as may be appropriate, among the wider WPP Health Practice network and WPP agency partners. Support on other ad hoc activities and projects that may be required. Requirements Must have had previous experience in management account production and an excellent knowledge of accounting/finance practices WPP reporting knowledge Ideally previous experience of SOX Ideally part/qualified CIMA or ACCA Ability to build relationships with people from multiple disciplines and at multiple levels Ability to manage workload to effectively deliver multiple tasks whilst maintaining attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and excellence Articulates self with credibility and encourages buy-in and listens to feedback to support a collegiate culture.
