Jump Lane Recruitment are currently recruiting a Residential Support Worker who personally want to make a difference in the lives of young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. The Client Our client is a privately run provider of Residential Child Care supporting young people within the Looked After Child / Children Looked After system. They are passionate about 'creating positive outcomes' for all our children and young people.A provider of Residential Care and Educational Services for young people aged 8 - 18 years. Salary Up to 24,300 per year dependent on experience & qualifications Hours 40 hours a week (with opportunities to pick up overtime) there will be a requirement to carry out sleep in's on rota where additional payment will be made. Residential Support Worker Role Purpose As a Residential Support Worker you will be providing a combination of support and domestic care. You will be empathetic and understanding of the trauma those in your care have suffered which can manifest in to very challenging behaviours. * Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural, cultural and educational needs of young our young people * To work within the child protection/safeguarding policy and practice * Engaging with the children and young people and being pro-active * Providing support for young people in all aspects of their education and extra-curricular activities * Giving advice and support on daily activities & instilling life skills * Helping young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct * Ensuring that each young person's care plan is followed and amended as appropriate to reflect their challenging needs * To work alongside the young people to help develop a true sense of identity and feel of self worth. What We Are Looking For You must be at least 23 years of age and have the following: * 12 months experience working within a care setting with young people or challenging behaviour preferred but not essential * NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care * Previous Experience working with Young People with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
