Job Description

We are looking for PRODUCTION MACHINE OPERATORS for our busy food production client West of Reading Previous experience is preferred, but knowledge of assembly, mechanics, engineering or factory experience is an advantage as full training will be given You will be employed in the operation of the production machines and line production equipment including: Operating the production machines and ancillary plant in the most efficient way and to understand the filling and labelling process as well as to understand the Standard Operating Procedures. Maintaining the machines in running order at all times, and repair minor breakdowns and to change over the machines for product and line changes. Carrying out and understanding the cleaning procedures and to be flexible with regards to the shifts, production and teams. You will take instructions from the Supervisor or key operator with a view to manufacturing the product to the required specification, in a quality and hygienic manner and ensure that the weights, vacuum, torque and codes for each product is correct. You will ensure that the labels and packaging is correct for the product and that all relevant production paperwork is completed, to specific time deadlines. Experience and knowledge of mechanical equipment is a major advantage, but full training will be given This will be on rotating day shifts from 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm. or nightshift only from 11pm-7am There is a 3 month temp to perm probationary period whereas a permanent contract will be offered along with a pay rise. Day shift including shift allowance starts at 10.69 per hour and night shift at 11.49 per hour. We provide transport from Reading direct to the place of work in Thatcham For experienced line setters pay rates start from 11.28 per hour increasing up to 13.06 once full training has been completed.
