Job Summary Job Title: Support Worker (Community Support) Location: Southend On Sea Contract: 32 hrs per week Hours: Full Time Salary: 8.72 per hour Contact: Samantha Reeder on 07736 743319 or Hannah Foot on 07725 413998 Information: Driver essential. Manual driver due to the person supported going to a day centre daily. Will use the person supported own vehicle. Female Only: qualifies under Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act A female driver to work a split shift 07:00 to 09:30 and 14:30 to 19:00pm 5 days a week Southend Community Who are Thera Group? Thera Group are a charity that support people with a learning disability in the community. We want to demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society but we cant do this without you! We need Support Workers in the Southend Community Support area to make our vision a reality. What does a Support Worker do? The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with a learning disability isnt just personal care; its so much more. A Support Worker could be taking the people supported swimming, assisting with the weekly shop, or even helping to administer the right medication. What experience do I need? You dont need to have worked in supported living before to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you. Youll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
