At Orchard House we offer compassionate, individualised residential and nursing care to 80 residents in a friendly and homely environment. Orchard House is set right in the heart of the Cotswold village of Bishops Cleeve, at the foot of Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds. Head of Care Orchard House The Orders of St John Care Trust is the 2nd largest not for profit care provider in the UK specialising in providing high quality, person centred care for older people, in care homes and extra care housing. As a charity, we ensure that any revenue goes straight back into our homes meaning our residents and staff are well looked after. Orchard House accommodates 50 residents, some of whom have complex nursing needs, your role would look after the residential residents. The home is located within the heart of Bishops Cleeve and nearby Cheltenham can be accessed easily by bus. You will be joining an established team of nurses, carers and ancillary employees, some of whom have worked with us for 10 years or more. The team itself is supplemented by a group of volunteers who are very actively involved in delivering support to residents. You will enjoy the homely atmosphere of Orchard House where we promote friendly interactions between residents and employees. Head of Care You must have Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or equivalent You must have experience of leading a care team, completing and ordering of medication for rounds, knowledge of DoLs and MCA.You will be: * Carrying out initial assessment to potential residents, working in partnership with friends, family and advocates, guiding them through the process of admission. * Producing individual care plans with residents, families and care professionals * Overseeing two residential households comprising of up to 40 residents * Leading a team that provides excellence in care quality * Running the home in the manager and deputy's absence. * Supporting with recruitment of all roles. * Managing and leading a new team, including team building. * Ensuring the home meets all necessary regulations including CQC standards.
