Launched in 2017, we now work with over 50,000 nurses and carers and over 600 care home locations across England, Scotland and Wales. We are a growing team of 60+, founded and led by a former doctor-turned-entrepreneur. This is a really exciting time to join Florence and be part of a tech startup that is filled with collaborative, passionate and driven people. Florence is looking for a talented Mobile Engineer to join the team and work on a brand new app that well be putting together using Flutter. We already have a couple of native apps so were really keen to speak with anyone who has experience building apps for iOS or Android as well as having a strong interest in and experience with Flutter. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to fully understand the needs of our users. * Creating a scalable, well-tested product that lots of people rely on for their work. * Shaping the actual direction of the product. Being vocal and communicative to ensure we give our best to those using our products. * Having a strong focus on the product and what's important for the user. * Work closely with Product Managers and UI/ UX to develop new user-facing features. * Establishing good patterns and practices in a brand new product to enable easy future iterations. * Providing knowledge about the apps and their usage to the wider team * Owning a part of the mobile experience our workers experience * Point of call for bugs, feature ideas and questions about what's possible on mobile Requirements * Proficiency in one of Kotlin/ Java or Objective C/ Swift * Experience building apps for Android or iOS * Experience with and general enthusiasm for Flutter and Dart * Experience building apps in a commercial environment * Good understanding of concepts like encapsulation and creating maintainable code that's easy to test. * Good attention to detail. Able to translate mockups from UI Handoff tools into fully functional components and experiences for our users * Understanding of and experience writing UI, Integration and Acceptance tests for mobile * Strong understanding of Mobile. Constraints, best-practices and commonly adopted UX patterns for providing an optimal experience.
