Job Title Insider Threat Analyst 1 Main Purpose of the role To assist in the setting up and deliverance of an Insider Threat programme. To monitor alerts and escalate accordingly. To assist in the management of IT security controls, IT security evaluations, Data Leakage and Access and Identity Management standards within the Security department. To assist in the management of joiner/mover/leavers. To ensure that access rights and privileges to the company's various computer systems are managed and controlled and that an up to date record is maintained of every permanent and contracted member of staff's access rights and privileges. To establish and operate the control framework providing assurance that access controls are operating effectively and provide the necessary evidence that this is so. To issue certificates and smartcards and to manage their life cycle to support production services. Key accountabilities: To assist in the setup of a User Behaviour tool. To analyse alerts and identify policy violations. To identify trends and patterns in user behaviour. To highlight anomalies in user behaviours and report them to management. To maintain the accuracy of the data held in the Identity Management database. To action new starter/leaver/mover staff notifications, reconcile against identity management databases and issue change requests as required. To create and review access amendment alerts and respond appropriately. To maintain the accuracy of the data in respect to access rights to individual directories and directory trees within the password vault database. To help generate, maintain and operate the control framework necessary to ensure the secure operation of access control. To ensure adherence to all appropriate company policies and procedures surrounding identity management and certificate/smartcard processes as required. To work with auditors and provide evidence as requested to ensure our certifications are maintained. To provide ad hoc security consultancy and approval. To maintain our Data Loss Prevention system ensuring the associated servers remain operational, managing alerts, investigating and providing solutions. To monitor for data leakage and take appropriate action when incidents are detected and to review and release quarantined emails. To perform regular checks to ensure security controls remain operational. To innovate and propose changes to enhance or automate existing Security department processes and systems. To respond to any security related incidents as determined by the Security Director. To perform regular access reviews on production and privileged commercial access. To work with the project team on security related projects and access management for new services/applications to ensure work is completed to the expected standard and scope. Knowledge, skills and experience Degree in a relevant subject e.g. IT security or experience in a similar role. Working knowledge of ISO27001/ISAE300/PCI standards. Essential: Accuracy and good attention to detail. A good team player with the ability to work on their own initiative. Good understanding of basic security principles Desirable: Working knowledge of Splunk.
