Sommelier, Luxury Hotel, Ripon up to 27k + Tronc We are looking for an experienced Sommelier for a luxury hotel in Ripon * Sommelier for a luxury hotel * Ripon location * Staff Accommodation for relocation * Salary package up to 27k About the Hotel This country house hotel dates back to the 17th century and stayed within the same family for over 200 years until the early 1990's, since then this country house has entertained Queen Mary, became a convalescence home for injured soldiers in the Second World War, a adult training centre and then became a private residence until 2015 when it was privately purchased to undergo a multi mullion pound transformation into Yorkshire's latest luxury Relais & Chateaux hotel. Working as a Sommelier As a Sommelier you will be working closely with the restaurant manager with operating the fine dining restaurant and ensuring that customers experience the highest level of service. You will be capable of creating, purchase and manage a cellar of 300 wines plus, you will be responsible for training staff from your wine knowledge and experience, deliver wine events and tastings to customers and providing guests with outstanding service and knowledge. The successful person will have previous experience of working in a fine dining restaurant, be passionate about delivering outstanding service, perform wine decanting in a professional manner, to have a proven track record in building a notable wine list and to be qualified to level 3 WSET or CMS. In addition to your excellent customer service skills, you should be a punctual and reliable team player with strong communication skills, a self driven approach, and a positive 'can do' attitude.
