This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our dedicated team of respiratory professions who provide outstanding respiratory care and nationally recognised respiratory research. The department has a strong reputation for teaching, training and quality improvement and you will have the opportunity to help shape and lead our specialist services working across in-patient and out-patient setting. The successful candidate will also be part of the NHS Lothian Cystic Fibrosis (CF) team. The CF service provides specialist support for CF patients from a wide geographical area, including weekly outreach service in Tayside and a quarterly outreach clinic on Inverness. The post holder's objective is to ensure adequate resources and equity of services to all patients at all sites, as part of the CF team. Research is imbedded at the heart of the Edinburgh CF Unit. Historically Edinburgh was a founding member of the UK CF gene therapy consortium and has trained a number of Respiratory Academics now working across the UK. We would anticipate that any new member of staff would be encouraged to take an active role in clinical research and additional training can be provided if required. This post would be suitable for either an established consultant or a trainee with clinical and research experience in Cystic Fibrosis or infection. We look forward to receiving your application.
