About us: Founded in 2012, Energy Aspects is a rapidly growing independent research consultancy. The company is committed to providing indispensable analysis of energy markets to its clients to help guide their investment, trading and research decisions. As a business, we have been hugely successful in selling our subscription services and growing our business. For 2020 and beyond we are embarking on a range of new projects that will redefine from the ground up how our clients consume our publications, data and research. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and talented front-end developer to help build out a brand-new web experience platform. As a developer you would take ownership of the delivery of new features by writing efficient, reusable and maintainable code. Additionally, you will be a proactive self-starter who can demonstrate willingness to consistently learn and develop. Required skills: As a specialist Front-End developer, you will have expert experience in: * JavaScript ES6 or higher. * At least one Front-End framework (React is most preferred). * A style sheet pre-processor language such as SASS or LESS. * Developing responsive browser-based applications. * Writing automated tests with a tool like Cypress or Jest. * Applying the above to solve real-world business problems. Required qualities: As a developer you will: * Take ownership of the plan to deliver your work. * Deliver complete, fully functional and tested solutions. * Collaborate directly with business team members to design solutions. * Balance optimal technical solutions against delivering business value. * Can discuss technical concepts with technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Are a team player and can prioritise team success over individual success. * Are comfortable working independently when required. Desirable skills: It is additionally useful but not essential to have: * Experience of PHP7 and Laravel. * Experience of End-to-End/Acceptance Testing (including standard testing frameworks). * Experience of AWS and/or DevOps.
