Overview

Job Description

As Strategic Planning Manager you will have responsibility for teams within Strategic Planning, Infrastructure and Planning Policy. You will oversee the management of a busy work programme, ultimately serving to make key decisions on allocation of resources, project management processes and schedules and final delivery. Our local authority client has a new borough-wide Local Plan scheduled for adoption this summer and you will be playing a key role in helping manage the provision of supplementary planning guidance. You will manage the document production process and you will work on Area Action Plans and SPDs. You will have an important role to play in managing the infrastructure planning programme to ensure timely and effective delivery factoring all stakeholders and any consultation and referral processes that need to be built into the programme. You will be expected to contribute creative ideas and solutions and make full use of your strong technical knowledge of UK planning regulation and policy development. Previous roles will have given you the management skills you will need to be successful and you will be confident in your ability to deliver by motivating and steering those around you. At this level we would expect to see professional accreditation. The role is based in East London with potential to roll on for some time (it will be at least 6 months to start) given the scale of the work programme. The rate is advertised at around £290/day but we expect there will be room to negotiate as we would typically expect a rate at this level of £350-£400/day. It is inside IR35.
