KINGSTON HOSPITAL NHS FOUNDATION TRUST JOB DESCRIPTION Simulation Fellow (ST3+) in Anaesthetics INTRODUCTION Kingston Hospital is a 520 bedded District General Hospital serving a population of 320,000 in South West London and Surrey. We are looking for a trust grade to fulfil the role of Simulation Fellow in Anaesthetics. The appointee will work jointly in Anaesthetics and Simulation during the 12 months of their appointment. The job will be split approximately 50% in anaesthetics and 50% in simulation however service needs may occasionally require deviation from this standard. The Clinical Director and Consultant Simulation Lead will determine if and when a deviation is required. The Fellow will be doing out of hours work in Main theatres, Obstetrics or Intensive Care, as is required of them by the Anaesthetic department. If they are not on-call all their daytime work will be with the Simulation team. They may be occasionally asked to cover elective lists in Main theatres, Day surgery unit or Obstetrics. Weekly work will comprise a full shift 1 in 8 rota and includes weekend/night work. The Anaesthetic Department is part of the Clinical Support Services. There are 7 main theatres performing 6000 operations per annum (including all day trauma and emergency lists). There are 4-day surgery theatres performing 9000 operations per annum. There is a broad base of surgical specialities catered for which gives a good grounding, as well as more specialised experience.
