Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Care with a passion for delivering the best quality of care. You will be working 40 hours per week with an on call rota basis, at Cygnet Nield House. Cygnet Nield House in Crewe is our new 30-bed mental health hospital for women which is due to open in summer 2020. This service will provide a robust person centred programme of care for women presenting with high risk needs and who may demonstrate difficulties with engagement or motivation with therapeutic programmes. Your Day-to-Day... * Provide leadership, direction and supervision to all clinical and support staff. * Implement and evaluate agreed systems of clinical and operational support aimed at the continual professional development of the Nursing Team and delivery of a high level of care to our clients. * Provide effective communication to both the care team and Multi-Disciplinary Team, acting as a positive role model at all times. You will have... Essential: * A Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) with a current pin number * Currently operating as a Ward manager / Head of Care or significant experience in a Senior Nursing role * Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team * Experience of providing clinical and managerial supervision, offering support in making clear and consistent clinical decisions along with the ability to lead and motivate a Nursing team effectively * The Ability to deputise in a Clinical Manager role Desirable: * An interest in leadership, research and assessment * Have up to date knowledge of legislation in relation to mental health / personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating. * Have leadership and management training or qualification * A minimum oftwo years post qualification Cygnet Health Care has been providing a national network of high quality specialist mental health services for 30 years Cygnet Nield House will be split into two distinct wards, each offering specialist mental health services: * Clarion Ward, a 15 bed highly specialised service for women with a personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating. * Compton Ward, a 15 bed acute service for women. The service will provide a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. What next?
