Wakefield Council's Adult Education Service is a Good Ofsted Provider and has seen a rapid increase in the number of learners over the past 12 months and as a result we now require additional staff to work within the Business Support Team to provide effective and high quality Administration and front line services. The successful candidate will be required to: be responsible for providing a high level of customer service in our busy reception ensuring our learners, tutors, other building users and visitors are all supported and dealt with in a caring manner. ensure a high level of administrative support for our service within the Manygates Centre reception to ensure effective provision of the varied day to day management of tasks and support. be our first point of contact for our learners ensuring all enrolment procedures are effectively managed in centre and within other centre locations. You will be working with a diverse team who puts customers at the heart of everything and being a very busy reception, you will be the first point of contact for visitors. This role includes evening cover until 7pm on a rota each week so you should be able to deal independently with routine reception enquiries and requests for information from a wide range of customers. Your strong communication skills will ensure customers are supported through the enrolment and progression process and with your flexible approach and experience of reviewing systems and processes you will ensure information is timely, relevant and accurate. The successful candidate should also have experience in providing effective administrative support particularly the recording of essential enrolment information from learners as well as the more standard, day to day tasks of inputting information into a management information system (e.g. Unit-E). You should be a competent user of Word and Excel along with experience in other Microsoft packages such as Outlook and PowerPoint. You will hold a minimum of Level 2 English and Maths (or willing to work towards within 12 months) and a Level 2 Business Administration or Customer Services qualification or equivalent.
