Job Description
The North Yorkshire and York Perinatal Team has secured further funding to increase its workforce to meet the perinatal ambitions of the NHS Long Term Plan which includes an additional Highly Specialist Applied Psychologist to join the current post holder. We are looking for a Highly Specialist Applied Psychologist (HSAP) to offer supervision and training to staff where needed and to offer assessments and interventions for mothers and babies. The successful candidate will also be part of the team's leadership cell to support the ongoing development and improvement activities being undertaken by the service. While the team operates across North Yorkshire and York locality this post has been commissioned to cover North Yorkshire working from the clinical hubs of Harrogate, Northallerton and Scarborough/Ryedale areas to be closer to the communities served and alongside other team members. The core skills needed are: substantial post-qualified experience, experience of working on attachment related issues with children and families, working therapeutically with mothers on their mental health problems as well as working dynamically with mothers and babies to promote secure bonding, knowledge of the Care-Index or previous training, experience of training staff on perinatal mental health issues, experience of multi-disciplinary and multiagency working and experience and knowledge of safeguarding. The post holder will be line managed within the team and professionally accountable to the locality lead for psychological therapies. You will be required to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
