POSITION SCOPE * Management of Technicians and Contractors in execution of improvement projects. * Manage capital projects up to 300K in individual value managing contract staff/resources to meet all reliability requirements. * Management of Packaging planned/preventative maintenance contracts, responsible for improvement work. POSITION STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND KEY DELIVERABLES * Plant reliability measured in downtime and lost opportunity * Reduction in the number of repeat plant failures * Meet SHHEQ and budgetary objectives DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Work safely and ensure all employees and contractors under their supervision work safely. * Provide detailed engineering input to specified maintenance activities, advising on best practice through updated technology where appropriate. * Lead capital projects utilitising both internal and contractor resources to provide value for money plant improvements resulting in less downtime and a more efficient process. * Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and Area Maintenace Leader's in the investigation of plant failures through RCA, suggesting plant replacements or upgrades to remove repeat failures. * Ensure spares are correct and carry out supplier audits to ensure quality standards and value for money. * Increase productivity levels through developing and supporting a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement. * Responsible for improving reliability and engineering uptime through the implementation of best practice maintenance principles. * Mentor, train and advise on engineering practices and maintenance issues at all levels. * Participate in RCM studies of TLS plan to derive and system optimum maintenance regimes. * Administer and review SAP maintenance system for budgeting, historical trend and reliability analysis. ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) * Demonstrated planning skills, budgetary control skills, problem solving and a methodical approach. * Proven leadership skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental systems and procedures. * Demonstrable ability for people management, activity planning and problem solving, providing long term solutions. * High levels of intiative and self motivation. ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES * At least 5 years practical "hands on" experience of plant maintenance within an automated continuous environment, which incorporates PLC and HT systems. * Experience of Predictive/Preventative and RCM maintenance techniques and regimes. * Experience of Continuous Improvement with a desire for continual personal development. * Experience of planning and organising engineering tasks including internal and contractor resources. ESSENTIAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * Degree in and engineering discipline or substantial experience of maintenance and reliability improvement within an FMCG packaging operation together with a minimum of HNC/NVQ4 in an engineering discipline, ideally multi-skilled.
