Job Description

Wakefield Council's Adult Education Service is a Good Ofsted Provider and has seen a rapid increase in the number of learners over the past 12 months and as a result we now require additional staff to work within the Business Support Team to provide effective and high quality administration. The successful candidate will be required to: develop and maintain systems for the effective provision of day to day financial management, ensuring invoices raised and payment received across the entire service and deal with our customers ensuring payments and refunds are processed in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction. You should have experience in providing effective administrative support particularly the recording of essential financial information as well as the more standard, day to day tasks of inputting information into a finance management system (e.g. Agresso). You should be a highly competent user of Excel along with other Microsoft packages such as Outlook and Word. You will have strong communication skills and be able to deal independently with routine financial enquiries and requests for information from all levels of colleagues, partners and members of the public. You will be working with a diverse team who puts customers at the heart of everything and being a very busy frontline service, you should have a flexible approach and experience of reviewing systems and processes to ensure information is timely, relevant and accurate. You will hold a minimum of GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English at Level 2 along with a Business Administration/Customer Service or Finance related qualification.
