Do you want the opportunity to work with in a Specialist Service and develop new knowledge and skills? Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal provides 29 Specialist Eating Disorder beds across two units, and although they function independently, they work closely together in order to share knowledge, expertise and learning opportunities. The two Units within the Specialist Eating Disorder Service are: Aspen Unit (11 beds) / Cedar Unit (18 beds) Mixed gender Specialist Eating Disorder Units(SEDU) providing treatment for Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa The Eating Disorder Service is well established. We work closely with the NHS to provide Specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder treatment for patients across the North West. We work with local Community Eating Disorder teams to ensure a smooth care pathway. We have an experienced Multi-Disciplinary team who work closely together, this includes- Consultant Psychiatrist, Specialty Doctor, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Dietitians, Psychologists, Family Therapist, Occupational therapy, Social Work Offering intensive multidisciplinary assessment and treatment. This includes physical monitoring, management of re-feeding syndrome, weight restoration, symptom interruption, meal plan management, NG feeding, Individual/Group and family Psychological interventions. Two beds available for Private Healthcare treatment The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are successful, your role will involve rotation onto day and night shifts. In the role, you will undertake and manage direct patient care, having participated fully in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care needs. Delivery of care, to patients and to work in the capacity of a key nurse with allocated patients to agreed quality standards. To maintain your own clinical supervision monthly and to supervise and support allocated HCA staff. You will also be responsible for the care, security and maintenance of equipment, drugs and other consumables on the ward/department. You will have shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information. Ensuring good quality patient documentation, which meets regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements. Prior experience of working within Eating Disorders is ideal but not essential, however enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn is required. Preceptors: Are you a newly qualified Mental Health Nurse looking to consolidate your training with an excellent Preceptorship package? You will have a preceptor package with tailored individual and group support both on and off the ward. This would consist of training and professional development from your line managers/mentors on site.
