The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Consultant Radiologist in Breast and Cross-Sectional imaging (10 PAs) Applications are invited to the post of Consultant Radiologist based at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic Radiologist to join the team of 16.5 dynamic and motivated Consultants providing a highly regarded imaging service. The successful candidate will join a close knit team of three existing symptomatic Consultant Breast Radiologists who work alongside three Consultant Breast Surgeons (including one Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon) and two dedicated Consultant Breast Oncologists. They must have appropriate experience in Breast and Cross-sectional imaging. It is a pivotal time to join this well-established Breast Symptomatic Team as we are in the process of acquiring a new Hologic Mammography Unit with tomosynthesis which will be based within a newly refurbished dedicated Breast Unit. Our radiology services are integrated between Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital offering a variety of interventional, general and cross-sectional work. A wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are carried out within the department. The post holder will require skills in mammography (ideally including tomography), breast ultrasound, breast MRI, both stereotactic and ultrasound guided interventional procedures using vacuum assisted devices and wire localisations. The post holder will also be required to support the Breast MDT and contribute to general reporting across plain film, ultrasound, CT and MRI modalities. There will be opportunity to develop or have a further subspecialist interest if desired. The main department offers a comprehensive range of services, including intervention, mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine. Mount Vernon Hospital is a satellite unit offering plain film, ultrasound and intervention to primary care, out-patients, minor injuries and local specialist cancer services. We are part of the Northwest London Radiology Network which will link all radiology services across Northwest London in 2020. There are opportunities to develop services within Hillingdon including cardiac CT, straight to test cancer pathways as well as be involved in network developments including specialist reporting groups across the network and AI development. Hillingdon Hospital is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including Accident and Emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. Hillingdon Hospital is the nearest Hospital to London Heathrow Airport and regularly receives emergencies from the airport, including patients with a variety of infectious diseases. Our services are provided from both Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital. The Trust has a turnover of around 250 million. We manage 614 inpatient beds and we employ over 3,300 staff. We deliver high quality healthcare to the residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon, and increasingly to those living in the surrounding areas of Ealing, Harrow, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, giving us a total catchment population of over 350,000 people. As well as its proximity to Heathrow Airport, Hillingdon Hospital is close to the M4 and M25 motorways, has excellent public transport links and offers easy access to both London's exceptional cultural facilities and local countryside. All newly appointed Consultants are offered a mentor. Applicants should hold a CCT in Diagnostic Radiology or be within six months of gaining CCT.
